About Film First:

Film First is a boutique film publicity company based in New York City. Founded in 2010 by Jessica Edwards, the company caters to both narrative and non-fiction independently minded films. Executing publicity strategies with an eye towards film advocacy, the agency brings experience and innovation to each client's project. In the changing media landscape, Film First uses a unique outreach approach to incorporate traditional media as well as emerging digital platforms.

Film First has vast experience with film festival campaigns, having worked with clients at the Toronto International Film Festival, Sundance, SXSW, New York Film Festival, and Tribeca Film Festival. Paying attention to the needs of each project, a unique campaign is built based on world premiere status, distribution plans, and talent availability. Festivals are used as a launching pad for many films and the agency facilitates a strong introduction to both industry and audiences alike.

Our staff has worked with filmmakers Gus Van Sant, Ang Lee, David Cronenberg, Miranda July, Catherine Breillat, Sofia Coppola, Shirin Neshat, and Margaret Brown, among many others.

Film First also produces short films. Further information on these projects can be found at www.seltzerworks.com and www.tugsfilm.com
